Overview

If your course is using a problem-based learning approach it is most likely part of an entire program that is designed to encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning. Some of your courses may use PBL while others may not and you will need to adapt accordingly.

Apart from these obvious reasons, the faculty sponsoring your PBL course believes in providing you with the very best learning opportunities and activities that will prepare you for professional life. Problem-based learning seeks to provide you with realistic and authentic problem situations that could and do occur in professional life.

The ability to problem-solve and work in effective teams are highly prized attributes in the workplace.
